For some unknown reason, my OS OpenSpace tile limit has suddenly dropped form 30,000 to 1,000. As you can imagine, this pretty much cripples my Google Earth overlay.
Thanks to everyone for pointing it out – it’s great to hear that people are actually using this!!
I’m looking into it, and will update this post when fixed…

A quick email to OpenSpace support has resolved this and I’m back at 30,000 tiles…

Hi, just wondering if the pressure on tiles might be lowered if you cached them locally? any scrolling back and forth re-requests the tiles, presumably using up your quota (it also slows down the interface). cheers.

As far as I can tell, the caching of tiles is negotiated between Google Earth and the OS web server providing the tiles. I only provide links to the tiles and I don’t think I can influence the negotiation.
